Some objects simply do their job. Others quietly elevate it. Tajimi cups and tumblers fall firmly into the latter camp.
Acme The art of everyday ceremony: our Tajimi's

When we set out to design them, we weren’t chasing trends. We were looking for something timeless; a cup that felt just as at home on a barista’s workbench as it did on a beautifully set dinner table. It had to hold its own in hospitality, shrug off daily use, and still have a presence that made you pause for a moment before taking that first sip.

That pursuit of balance took us to Tajimi, Japan — a region with over a thousand years of ceramic history and a reputation for precision and restraint. Working with the Maruasa Porcelain Factory, a family-run business now over a century old, we honed in on a form that is classic yet quietly modern. The result is a pair of tumblers (short and tall) and cups that feel deliberate in the hand, and with walls substantial enough to hold warmth (or chill) without being clunky.

Each piece is finished with a matte exterior that invites touch and a glazed interior for an easy, clean pour. It’s the kind of thoughtful detail that reflects the Maruasa philosophy: beauty and utility should never be at odds. And just like many Acme pieces, the short tumbler is stackable and space-conscious; a nod to our hospitality roots where bench space is always at a premium.

Perhaps the best thing about these cups and tumblers is just how versatile they are. Green tea, pour-over, a crisp pilsner, a G&T, or even a late-night Negroni; they handle it all with ease. They’ve even become a regular at Barista Champs.

Tajimi's have a knack of making every drink feel a little more intentional, and turning the everyday into a quiet ritual. So, whether you’re gifting them to that friend who always seems to know what’s cool before the rest of us, or simply upgrading your own evening wind-down, Tajimi's are a reminder that the right vessel can change how you experience what’s inside.
