Yes, it's been 10 whole years of partnering with the World Aeropress Championships! A partnership that grew super organically, through connecting at coffee events - a tale as old as time! Megan reflects on 10 years of a partnership that has built an incredible global community.

The World Aeropress Championship is a highlight on the events calendar every year, more so since it became it's own standalone competition 8 years ago. A highlight for Tim in the almost 20 years of the championship was definitely the first event in Sydney, "our first year having 'broken away' from the WBC to be a standalone event. A bit of a gamble, and not possible without the support and trust of our partners". Besides the actual event itself, the fact that the meet and greet event was bowling and a BBQ above Sydney at a very Australian Bowling club was definitely a highlight. I recently spoke to the Dutch champion who competed at that event; we bonded the day before, and I felt pretty lucky to be among those standing on a hill/cliff at the bottom of the world with 50+ other competitors from all over the world, eating sausages and bowling together.

"The World Aeropress Championships use to happen alongside tradeshow events, back when there were only a hundred or so competitors globally. When we started building out the hosting program, a collectible keepsake idea was thrown around, something that could be shared with the competitors and hosts. The idea of a co-branded cup came up from there. As we all grew we continued to work together to support the participants" Tim Williams, World Aeropress championship founder

I personally feel super honoured to have been a part of the global event for all these years, attending them in person, standing on the stage pointing at my favourite cup to supporting from behind the scenes. I'm very excited about what we have planned to celebrate this 10 year milestone and to celebrate in Mexico City is the filter cap on the top of my Aeropress.

A coffee event that brings people together, with low barriers of entry and creates a supportive community is what we love. Aeropress is more than a competition it's a global community.
